100 emails in 4 days to the familia!

A landmark has been achieved. 100 emails were sent this past week. The subject? “Cranberry Chutney Rocked my lunch break” started by me–the 100th email was cat-girl. It should be noted that only six emails had anything even remotely to do with Cranberrys or Chutneys or lunch breaks. What does this say about us? We check our email atleast 30 times a day, on the hour every hour. None of us “edit the subject”. Here is a brief script of all the topics discussed in the 100 emails. Dont ask Y, for Y is only a crooked letter:)

-For lunch, I had a pretty mediocre sandwich made of soy nuggets, and this corn/bean/spinach/tomato sauce thing I made. Say Yeahh!! **crowds…say yeahhh***

Okay Whatever.

Big Weekend this weekend. Joemon’s moving into his new home. July 4th is going down. And it’s a beautiful weekend (weather-wise) in DC!

So how do you bring auspicious joy and good cheer in your new home? Here’s some advice from Tommy:

Do the following:

1. Warm Milk (It must be whole milk – none of these 1% 2% milk..oh yeah it must be cow milk not goat, dog or human. You can substitute cat milk in emergency)

2. Drink it slowly and carefully. (Milk may be too hot)

3. Pray that all booths(Chegathans) from the house go away to the neighbours house.

4. Clean up the area and do the dishes.

End of Ceremony. Total time expected: 20 minutes

Another Mid-Day Poem Break from Leena!

Filed under: Poems and Songs — banana06 @ 10:09 pm

I have heard your story
a billion times
Jack is mean
and jill makes you cry
You thought humpty
was your friend
and dumpty was too
your mother makes you mad
your father makes you weep
you wish you had money
you wish you had a dog
I have heard your story
a billion times
I’ll listen to it for another billion
about jack and jill
about humpty and dumpty
about your father and mother
and money and dog
because that’s your story

Riding High on Shame by Leena

Riding high on shame
tonight I come to your door
I forgot your name that night
I forgot my name that night
head hung low,
spinal decapitation on the horizon

How did i get here
I don’t remember
Where do I want to go
I don’t know
I wish I wasn’t here
at your door steps
hoping the flowers
will bloom the love
reminding you of
our slow dance
the flickering of our hearts
the melting of our souls

Phoenix Trip!!

I (Sony) was in Phoenix this weekend and had many mini-adventures with Joemon and Reena:) We went off towards Superstition Mountains…see those shadows in the distance?…that’s home to the infamous Tortilla Flat. It’s the last surviving stagecoach stop off of the Apache trail.

But before we reached Tortilla Flat, where I had cactus ice-cream, and Joemon got branded in the butt by Reena all in the same store, we stopped off this ghost town. It used to be an old mining town for gold.

There were all these great mining stuff around, and an old, beautiful church straight out of some Old West, missionary movie. Before we went on our way, we had ice cream, went to jail, and wandered around the town brothel.

umm…

Next Stop: Tortilla Flat…where Joemon tried to save this dead guy… He’s the one who opened the restaurant and he was apparently in love with some widow from Boston. Joemon! It’s too late~!

After we said goodbye to Tortilla Flat….

we headed off to Papago Park. Can you believe this whole structure was formed from wind and weather? How cool!

After all that, we went and saw Chup Chup Se… Full day! :)

Click here for my pics. Joemon will very very soon upload his too. He’s thinking about how to steal all the money stuck to the walls:)

When we were young…

could be…dun know. me and this Indian kid from 4th floor put our
fingers inside electric sockets and would stand on wooden stuff so we
can test out the grounding properties of electricity and one time this
indian kid got shocked hella bad. :-)
–Jommy

I remember liking getting mail addressed to me.

I used to send in my address for contests, bible studies, anything and everything that asked for an address. I even sent for a booklet on cholestrol…from conola oil or something….All in the hopes to get a letter back with my name on it. what a loser. :)
–Tommy

I remember Amai telling leena and me the story of the girl with the shiny–telungnah–hair while we went to sleep. I loveddd that story. I don’t remember any of leena’s stories, although she claims she told me many. I do remember making her read my diary, which was “I sat a little while. Then I had something to eat. Then I went to school, where I sat some more.”..hahah.. But I know that almost everyone–Leena, Mini, Jommy, Tommy and Saju–told me stories. At least one. I remember Jommy’s the most though..cuz he’d tell the Evil Death movie stories, and it was realllyyy scary. I still remember the woman who sketched a skeleton because of a chilly wind, right before she died a horrible bloody death. All of Jommy’s stories were told in the dark. I remember Mini and I played house once, and we played tea time w/ real food. Except mini put salt in my jam! Remember when Sajit and Bobby would come over from the US of A, we would be in Pepan’s room, turn off all the lights and make up scary stories about the Postman or watchman in the opposite building? What was that alll about? Why Postman? Then of course, there were snake bites. Lots of snake bites.
–Sony

Any other stories?

Leena’s like all about the ‘verse, man…
